Your trust matters to us. This page explains, in plain language, what information TaqwaNoor collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
01What we collect
TaqwaNoor is built to ask for as little as possible. When you sign in, we collect your phone number and the mobile operator you select (Robi or Airtel) — this is the only personal information our servers ever receive. It is used solely to send a one-time verification code and to confirm your subscription status with your operator.
Everything else that makes the app feel personal to you — your bookmarked verses, your last-read position, your chosen language, your night-mode preference, your tasbih counts, and your selected prayer-time city — is stored only in your browser's local storage, directly on your device. This information never leaves your phone or is transmitted to our servers. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, this information is not recoverable from us, because we never had it.
02How we use your data
OTP verification — when you request a login code, your phone number is sent to our verification service so a one-time passcode can be issued and confirmed. This exchange happens once per login and is not stored beyond what is needed to complete it.
Operator subscription checks — your phone number is used to ask your mobile operator (via our billing partner) whether your daily subscription is currently active. This check happens when you log in and at a few points inside the app so your access status stays accurate.
Personalization — features like "Continue reading", your bookmarked verses, and your preferred font size are personalized entirely on your device using local storage; we do not process this information on our servers, and it plays no role in advertising or profiling.
03What we don't do
We do not collect or store your card, bank, or mobile-wallet details — subscription billing is handled entirely by your mobile operator (Robi or Airtel) through Direct Carrier Billing, and payment information never passes through TaqwaNoor. We do not sell, rent, or trade your phone number to any third party.
We do not run advertising trackers, and the third-party services we call — Al Quran Cloud, Aladhan, UmmahAPI, and translation services such as MyMemory and Google Translate — are used only to fetch religious content, prayer times, and translations; none of them receive your phone number or are used to build a profile of you.
04Cookies & local storage
TaqwaNoor does not use tracking cookies. Instead, the app relies on your browser's local storage — a standard, on-device technology — to remember things like your login state, language, theme, reading position, bookmarks, and tasbih counts, so the app works smoothly between visits without asking our servers each time.
This data stays in your browser and is never synced to us. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings; doing so will sign you out and reset your preferences to their defaults.
05Your rights
Because almost all of your data lives on your own device, you are already in control of most of it: clearing your browser storage or uninstalling the app removes it completely.
For the phone number we do hold for verification and billing purposes, you may ask us at any time to confirm what we have on file or to have it removed from our records, subject to what your mobile operator's billing system requires to process an active subscription. You may also stop using the service and unsubscribe at any time from the Settings or Subscription page, which ends operator billing going forward.
06Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the app evolves — for example, if we add a new feature or work with a new content provider. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page occasionally, especially before continuing to use the service after an update.
07Contact us
If you have a question about this policy, or you would like to know what information we hold about you, you can reach our support team by email. We aim to respond to privacy-related requests within a reasonable time.
