Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Taqwify collects the minimum needed to run a phone-based subscription:

• Your mobile number. Submitted by you on the sign-in screen and sent to our subscription backend to check status, send a one-time code and verify it.
• A one-time code and its reference number. Used once to confirm the number belongs to you.
• A subscriber identifier and subscription status returned by your mobile operator's billing system.

We do not ask for your name, email address, date of birth, address, contacts, photos or payment card details. There is no account password.

2. What stays on your device

The following is written to your browser's local storage on this device and is never transmitted to us:

• Saved verses and the surah they belong to
• Your position in the surah you were last reading
• Tasbih counts, rounds, targets and daily history
• Language, night mode and reading-size preferences
• Prayer calculation method and your last known coordinates

Clearing your browser data for this site removes all of it permanently. We hold no copy.

3. Why we need it

Your mobile number is processed for one purpose: to establish and maintain a paid subscription billed by your mobile operator. Without it we cannot tell whether access should be granted, and your operator cannot charge or stop charging you.

We do not use your number for marketing, do not sell it, and do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Third-party services

Taqwify reads content from public services. When your device requests that content, those services necessarily see your IP address and request:

• Subscription backend — handles number checks, one-time codes, subscription status and cancellation.
• Quran dataset (jsDelivr CDN) — the Arabic text with Bangla and English translations.
• Ummah API — hadith collections, prayer times, calculation methods and the Ramadan schedule.
• Recitation audio (everyayah.com) — verse-by-verse audio files, requested only when you press play.
• Tafsir footnotes (quranenc.com) — requested only when you open the tafsir panel for a verse.
• Translation services (MyMemory, and Google Translate as a fallback) — the hadith text you asked to read in Bangla is sent to be translated. Only that passage is sent; your number is never included.

These providers operate under their own privacy policies. We pass no identifying information to any of them.

5. Location and sensors

Prayer times and the qibla compass need to know roughly where you are. Your browser asks your permission first, and you may refuse — in that case we fall back to Dhaka, Bangladesh, and everything continues to work.

Coordinates are stored on your device and sent only to the prayer-times service as latitude and longitude, with no identifier attached. The compass reads your device's orientation sensor in the browser; those readings are never transmitted.

6. How long we keep it

Your mobile number and subscription record are retained while the subscription is active, and afterwards only as long as required for billing reconciliation and legal obligations. One-time codes expire within minutes.

7. Your choices

• Cancel any time. Settings → Danger zone → Unsubscribe, or the Subscription page. No call, no retention screen.
• Sign out to remove your number and session from this device while keeping the subscription active.
• Erase local data by clearing site data in your browser, or by using Clear history in Tasbih and Clear all in Saved verses.
• Request deletion of your subscription record by contacting us with the number in question.

8. Children

A paid mobile subscription requires an operator account, so Taqwify is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly hold data about them.

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and the change is announced in the app before it takes effect.

10. Contact

Questions about privacy, or a deletion request, can be sent from the phone number concerned. We answer within seven working days.
